The Doors - Isle of Wight

Todos conocemos a The Doors, a mi personalmente no me gustan mucho, el cuento de "rey Lagarto" no lo compro mucho y esa para de Rock Star tampoco. Pero se que esta banda es bien seguida por mucha gente y en esta oportunidad el disco hace referencia a unos de sus ultimos Shows en el famoso Festival de Wight, mas conocido por los Shows de The Who o Jimmi Hendrix. EL set list incluye clasicos como Road House Blues, Light My Fire o le mejor del Show, when the music is Over. Humble Pie - Rock On'

Hace unos dias, en el Post de The Faces nombramos a esta banda, Humble Pie. Steve Marriot en Guitarra, acompañado por un jóven Peter Frampton en voz y guitarra tambien, mas la base rítmica de El bajista Greg Ridley y el baterista Jerry Shirley. Los Pie partieron siendo una banda no tan orientada al Hard Rock (sonido creciente a fines de los 60'), sino mas bien acústico y bien melodico en sus bases. Ya en la nueva decada, precisamente en 1971 publican el disco Rock On, mucho mas orientado al Hard Rock imperante por completo en esos años, dejandonos clásicos como Shine On y Stone Cold Fever. Luego de su respectiva gira por EEUU, publican un álbum en vivo Perfomance Rockin The Filmore, Frampton deja Humble Pie para iniciar su carrera como solista. Los años venideros lo dejaremos para otro post, por ahora disfrutemos de Rock On.

Dios Negro

Si Ud dice que le gusta el jazz.....tengo que dar por hecho que le gusta el maestro Miles Davis...un torrante para unos, un adelantado para otros, con una cantidad de discos bajo el brazo impresionante....para esta vez hare referencia a uno que ha vendido la "módica" suma de 20 millones de copias, nada mal cierto???Ahora usted puede "comprarlo" tambien, al igual que esos tipos medios pitucos que van a las disqueras y se las dan de intelectuales escuchando Jazz, siendo que sus músicos eran mas flaites que los reggeton kids que vemos en Mtv o nuestra querida Tv en general.

Cuando Steve Marriot dejo Smalll Faces para formar Humble Pie (que pedazo de banda) dejo a Ian McLagan en piano y teclados, Ronnie Lane en Bajo y Kenney Jones en Bateria, que paso despues,........estos muchachos reclutaron a el Magnifico Rod Stewart en Voz, y a la guitarra de Ron Wood (si te llamas Ron estas condenado a ser weno pa tomar no?) Que paso aca???Nace The Faces, banda con 4 discos de estudio, First Step del 70, A Long Player del 71, A Nod Is A Good as a wink...To a blind Horse tambien del 71 (dos discos en un año??esas eran bandas) y Oh la la de 1973 (1972 dio para la gira y posterior disco Coast to Coast...Overtures an beginners), resultado una banda explosiva, con mucho rock and roll, guitarras que derrepente no sabes cual es la primera o segunda, la Voz de Rod al máximo seguido del buen pulso del Lane y Jones dupla perfecta.

Aca queda su tercer disco A Nod Is A Good as a wink...To a blind Horse, para los que no los conocen este seria su disco presentacion, para los que si los conocen podriamos opinar que es el mejor??
